How Does Negative Status Work in Wuthering Waves 2026? Full Guide
Every enemy has an Attribute gauge tied to its weakness. Depleting that gauge applies a Negative Status unique to the Attribute: Fusion Burst, Glacio Chafe, Aero Erosion, Electro Flare, Spectro Frazzle, or Havoc Bane. These debuffs increase the damage the enemy takes and are the core damage and control tool — there are no elemental reactions in Wuthering Waves.
The Attribute Gauge and Breaking
Attacks chip the enemy's Attribute gauge; hits matching the enemy's weakness type drain it much faster. When it hits zero the enemy is broken and suffers that Attribute's Negative Status (increased damage taken, sometimes slow or spread).
Negative Status by Attribute
Fusion = Fusion Burst (more damage taken). Glacio = Glacio Chafe (slow + more damage taken). Aero = Aero Erosion (stacking, more Aero damage taken). Electro = Electro Flare (more Electro damage taken, can chain). Spectro = Spectro Frazzle (stacks, amplifies Spectro burst). Havoc = Havoc Bane (more Havoc damage taken).
Why Breaking Matters in 2026
Broken enemies take more damage, so you time your carry's biggest hits during the broken window. Spectro carries like Jinhsi apply and detonate Frazzle for burst; Aero teams stack Aero Erosion. Breaking is the foundation of Wuthering Waves' damage system.
