Wuthering Waves has five weapon types: Sword, Broadblade, Rectifier, Pistols, and Gauntlets. 5★ signatures are best-in-slot for their unit; 4★ weapons from the standard banner and shops are strong free alternatives. Key signatures: Verdant Summit (Jiyan), Age of Harvest (Jinhsi), The Last Dance (Carlotta), Red Spring (Camellya), Vintage Minuet (Verina).

The Five Types

Swords (Rover, Camellya, Sanhua), Broadblades (Jiyan, Calcharo, Jinhsi, Augusta), Rectifiers (Encore, Shorekeeper, Verina, Baizhi), Pistols (Carlotta, Chixia, Ciaccona), and Gauntlets (Xiangli Yao, Yuanwu, Zani). Each Resonator can only use their own type, so weapon investment is type-specific.

Signature vs Alternative

Signatures are tailored to one unit's kit (Verdant Summit boosts Jiyan's Heavy Attacks; Red Spring boosts Camellya's Havoc). 4★ alternatives are close enough for most accounts — Lustrous Razor for Broadblades, Commando of Conviction for Swords, Static Mist for Rectifiers, Variation for support Rectifiers.

Which to Refine in 2026

Refine the 4★ weapons you use widely first (Lustrous Razor, Commando of Conviction, Variation). Refine signatures only if you main that unit. Standard-banner 4★ weapons are the best value for free-to-play accounts.
